Forever Friends - Forever Homes

Wilbarger Humane Society is a non-profit organization that serves Wilbarger County and several surrounding communities. Our adoption program, spay/neuter program, education program and part of the shelter operation depends solely on donations.  Donations made to the shelter are tax deductible and can be made online for your convenience.

Our shelter strives to make sure that each animal goes to a permanent, responsible and loving home. Pets are not ready to go home the same day. All pets are spayed or neutered before they are allowed to go home. Please call to check on the availability of a specific pet. Not all pets listed are at the shelter, some are in foster homes.

If you are looking for a forever friend to share your forever home with you have come to the right place!  There are always beautiful loving pets in temporary residence here anxiously awaiting a friend to take them home.  You can view their pictures and profiles on our Adoptable Pet List.  Friends who have found a forever home are shown on our success stories page.

If you have lost a pet within the area we serve, you may be in luck.  When  a stray animal is brought to the shelter, it is placed in wait status and listed on our Found Pets page prior to being made available for adoption.  If you would like for us to list your lost pet on our lost pets page, send an email describing your pet and the location where it was lost to info@wilbargerhumanesociety.org .  Be sure to attach a photo if possible.

Membership has its benefits!  Our website includes information made available to members only. Instructions for applying for membership, benefits of membership and an online membership application are available on our membership page.

We could not do it without volunteers.  Our shelter depends heavily on services provided by volunteers.  From student dog walkers to community professionals donating their time, every little bit helps.  Take a look at our volunteer page to see how you can help.
